Shōroku
Atarashi Kanji, a ceramic artist based in Iga Ueno, is renowned for his creative works that inherit the techniques and traditions of Iga-yaki while being highly praised for their originality.
One of his exclusive creations for Tachikichi is the Shōroku collection.
During firing, ash naturally settles on the piece inside the kiln, acting as a catalyst that melts the clay's components into a glass-like surface.
This process creates a unique pooling effect known as "Bidoro" in the center of the plate, adding depth and character to each piece.
While utilizing traditional Iga-yaki techniques, Atarashi's distinct approach brings a modern, sharp aesthetic to these beautifully designed square plates.
Each glaze pattern varies, allowing for the enjoyment of unique expressions in every piece.
With a solid presence that enhances the presentation of food, this square plate exudes elegance simply by being placed on the dining table.
The artist's name is engraved on the back of the plate as a signature mark.
