Ichimatsu

During the Edo period,
the Ichimatsu pattern_a distinctive checkerboard design_
became widely popular after being featured on the hakama (traditional pleated skirt) of famous kabuki actors.

This classical motif, beloved by the Japanese for centuries, is brought to life in a handcrafted tableware piece.
The Ichimatsu pattern is carefully painted using Oribe glaze, known for its rich, deep green tones, and Shino glaze, which has a slightly reddish-white hue.
Additionally, Kyoto-inspired seasonal motifs are delicately incorporated, enhancing its traditional charm.

The bold diamond shapes and striking color contrasts create a strong presence on the dining table while conveying the warmth of handcrafted artistry.

Perfect for celebratory occasions and hospitality, this piece also brings a playful touch to everyday dining.
Its vibrant aesthetic makes any dish look exquisite, adding a touch of joy to daily meals.
