Kyōmishima
Introducing the exquisite tableware crafted through Kyoyaki/Kiyomizuyaki, featuring the works of Morisato Tōraku, the third-generation artisan.
Specializing in the Mishima-de technique, his work is characterized by lace-like decorations created by delicate floral patterns, which exude both elegance and a rustic charm.
Mishima-de is distinguished by the use of continuous patterns made through incised lines and stamps, with white clay inlaid into the impressions—a technique known as "inka".
The second-generation Tōraku refined this traditional method, creating uniquely intricate patterns combined with sophisticated color tones. He developed and established "Kyōmishima" as a distinctive style within Kyoyaki/Kiyomizuyaki, a tradition that has now been passed down for three generations.
